Ruwanwelisaya Dagaba is one of the wonderful places supposed to be the biggest Stupa in the world situated at Anuradhapuraya ancient city which built by king Dutu Gemunu who reigned Sri Lanka from 161 BC to 137 BC. The stupa is said to have the largest collection of Buddha's relics enshrined in it.
The perimeter wall of the stone paved upper terrace or salapathala Maluwa is decorated with forepart of Elephants making it a very attractive feature. Cylindrical neck Devatha kotuwa just above the tee cube Hatharas kotuwa has beautiful sculptures. The design, decorations and the structure are fascinating.
